Boboli Gardens in Florence, enchantment of nature and art

The Boboli Gardens in Florence is a historic park that is located behind the Palazzo Pitti, a 15-minute walk from our hotel in Florence.

It is one of the most important examples of Italian gardens in the world, a veritable open-air museum due to its setting, its ancient Roman and Renaissance sculptures, grottoes and large fountains, with steep slopes, its triangular shape and the characteristic Fountain of Neptune.

Covering about 45,000 square meters, it was first owned by the Medici, and later by the Lorraine and Savoy, and its has undergone numerous extensions and conversions over the centuries.

The Boboli are part of the “Great Gardens”, a collection of the most beautiful ones to visit in Italy.
Statues, clearings, patios, paths and walled gardens create a scene with a strong suggestive impact. From the amphitheatre to the garden of the Knight, the Ganymede’s, Jupiter’s, the Kaffeehaus, and Buontalenti’s Grotto: all symbols of the city’s elegance, creating an atmosphere of unspoilt beauty.

The Boboli can be visited from Monday to Sunday from 8.15 am. The closing time varies according to the seasons.
