Palazzo Pitti in Florence was once the palace of the Grand Duchy of Tuscany, formerly inhabited by the Medici, Lorraine and Savoy dynasties. It is situated in Piazza Pitti, in the Oltrarno, about a ten-minute walk from our Florence hotel.

Palazzo Pitti hosts several galleries: an art gallery (the Palatine, with masterpieces by Raphael, Titian, etc.) arranged according to the criterion of eighteenth-century paintings, monumental apartments, the Modern Art section (with the works of Macchiaioli) and other specialised museums: the Museo degli Argenti, dedicated to applied arts, the Costume museum, the most important one focusing on fashion, the Porcelain and the Carriage Museums.

The Giardini dei Boboli, one of the best examples of Italian gardens, are located behind the main building of the Palazzo.
