We continue our journey through the museums and places of fashion with the Capucci Museum in Florence, located in seventeenth-century Villa Bardini, on the Costa San Giorgio 2, on the left bank of the Arno, between Fort Belvedere and the museum complex of the Pitti Palace. The museum is dedicated to the activity of the designer Roberto Capucci and its sculpture-dresses made in occasion of the Venice Biennale of 1995, which originally were not intended to be worn. Initially the exhibition was temporary but given the enormous success of public it was turned into a permanent display. Capucci Museum in Florence at Villa Bardini
The exhibition presents a series of twelve sculpture-dresses made in occasion of the Venice Biennale of 1995 and other dresses on display, which are periodically rotated. Capucci was defined by Christian Dior as “the best creator of Italian fashion”. A total of about 30 dresses divided into groups and they cover the entire production of the designer, since 1950. To act as a kit there are sketches, audio, press articles and photographs. The Foundation also organizes educational events and seminars. Opening hours: from Wednesday to Friday 10:00 to 16:00 – from Saturday and Sunday 10:00 to 18:00. The entrance ticket at Villa Bardini is € 8,00 per person.
