Restaurant Santa Elisabetta, Piazza Santa Elisabetta, 3 – Florence
First floor of the Pagliazza Tower, inside the Hotel Brunelleschi.
The Pagliazza Tower is the oldest building still standing in the historic centre of Florence, also included in the register of Florentine historical buildings. In the 12th century it was used as a female prison, hence the name “Pagliazza”, which is derived from the straw bunks intended for the prisoners.
