Zubin Mehta inaugurates the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino
Zubin Mehta, one of the greatest conductors of all time, will arrive in Florence for the opening concert of the 79th edition of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino scheduled for Sunday, 24 April at 06 pm at the Teatro dell’Opera di Firenze. A gala evening with one of the most celebrated and appreciated conductors at international level which, in this case, will be accompanied by Sir András Schiff at the piano and by the Orchestra and Chorus of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino.
The conductor will perform works by Ludwig van Beethoven: the Concerto no. 5 in E flat major op. 73 Emperor for Piano and orchestra and, after the interval, the Symphony no. 9 in D minor op. 125 for soloists, chorus and orchestra.
