Great expectations for the appointment on Saturday 18th May for the Night of the Museums in Florence 2013. Take advantage of this magical night to visit the places of art and culture among the the finest of the city that will be open to visitors free of charge and at unusual times, from 19.00 to 01.00: the Uffizi Gallery, the Palatine Gallery in Pitti Palace, the Gallery Academy, the Museum of San Marco and the Medici villas of Petraia, Cerreto Guidi and Poggio a Caiano. Also Palazzo Vecchio will be open free of charge from 18.00 to midnight, with guided tours on the Camminamento di Ronda. At the Natural History Museum of the University, on the complex of Careggi, you can visit the new staging of pathological anatomy, from 21.00 to 23.00.

During the Night of the Museums in Florence you can also participate in guided tours, musical shows, meetings and conferences organized just for the occasion. The Palatine Gallery proposes a journey through the history of its splendid collections entitled “From the dynastic collections to the Palatine Gallery. Masterpieces in Palazzo Pitti”. At the Villa Medici of Petraia at 21.00 it will be held a musical performance of the association “Sesto in Canto”, with a repertoire ranging from classical polyphony, gospel, ethnic music and jazz. The Villa Medici of Cerreto Guidi awaits you instead, with a conference with free entry already at 16.30 by the Director Marilena Tamassia, entitled “Bardini, Antiquarian of the Renaissance: accrocchi and bardinate” and a musical entertainment with the string ensemble of the Musical Academy of San Miniato Basso.
