The Treasure of Kremlin is the ongoing exhibition from May 27th 2011, product of the cultural exchanges between Italy and Russia, which takes place at Museo degli Argenti until August 1st 2011. The exhibition will be together with the exhibition of Medici finds at Kremlin in Moscow.

The Treasure of Kremlin exhibition is composed by 150 works obtained thanks to the cultural exchange between the two states from the ancient Russian museum collecting royal treasures, with objects of the court or of daily use for Russian tsars. The Museo degli Argenti – Palazzo Pitti – shows the “treasury room” of the Russian “Caesars” which was from 12th to 18th century the Armory.

In the exhibition in Palazzo Pitti the finds of the Russian royal family coming from the most different parts of the world: jewels, armors, Turkish, Persian and European embroidery which made the Tsars court unique of its kind. With the transfer from Moscow to St. Petersburg, the armory, seat of the Treasure, became the place where the objects of the ceremony of coronation were guarded.
