Vinum Nostrum exhibition, held at the museum Museo degli Argenti at Palazzo Pitti, is a voyage to discover the history of wine.
The museum will open on July 20. In that moment, time will go back to the origins of vine-growing, in the Near East, thousands of years ago, showing the importance of wine for the main Mediterranean civilizations over the centuries.
Until May 15, 2011, wine and vineyards will be at the heart of an experience where all the five senses are involved, through archaeological findings, sculptures and mosaics, dating back to the Phoenician, Etruscan, Roman and Pompeian periods.
For all those who are interested in wine, the Brunelleschi Hotel is the ideal place to stay, within walking distance of the exhibition and of the historic centre of Florence.
