The 39th edition of the Florence Marathon 2023 will take place on Sunday 26 November. The Florence Marathon

42 kilometres and 195 meters long, it takes place along a fascinating journey through art, history and culture. An appointment for lovers and sportsmen coming every year from all over the world on the last Sunday of November. The Florence Marathon is an ideal opportunity to spend a pleasant weekend in Florence.

The Florence marathon, together with that of Rome, is the most important road racing event in Italy, in terms of quality and number of participants. The itinerary includes sites of incredible beauty such as Piazza del Duomo, Piazza della Signoria, Ponte Vecchio and it ends in the magnificent Piazza Santa Croce. The track has no altitude variations, as required by the IAAF rules, on paved and smooth roads. The Florence Marathon is part of the official program of international marathons, certified by AIMS and approved by the IAAF.

Until 15 October 2023 it is possible to register for the marathon at a cost of 75 Euros per person.
Until 17 November 2023, the registration fee is 85 Euros per person.

Florence marathon route

The route of the 2023 marathon foresees departure and arrival in Piazza Duomo, in the heart of the city.

The marathon route will cross the historic streets of Florence, offering participants a breathtaking view of the city’s monuments and treasures. Runners will have the opportunity to pass by the magnificent Ponte Vecchio, admiring its old shops and the Arno River flowing beneath it. Along the way, participants will also be able to admire the majesty of the Basilica of Santa Croce and its famous bell tower.

During the marathon, the runners will be accompanied by a festive and engaging atmosphere, with spectators who will support and cheer the runners all along the way. Along the roads, there will also be refreshment points where participants can stock up on water and energy supplements to keep their energy up during the race.

Once the finish line in Piazza Duomo is reached, the participants will be greeted by a cheering crowd and an atmosphere of triumph. Each runner will receive a medal and will have the opportunity to take souvenir photos with the Duomo in the background.
