Here is a small guide to discover the most romantic places in Florence. We offer you a romantic itinerary in Florence with information on the most beautiful places to visit with the person of your heart. We wait for you at the Brunelleschi Hotel for a magical and unforgettable stay, for a honeymoon, for an anniversary or for a romantic getaway in the heart of Tuscany. In our favourite list of romantic places in Florence, we have included various proposals for an itinerary that may be suitable for a 3 day holiday in Florence.

Day 1 of the romantic itinerary in Florence

Market in the San Lorenzo district (open every day) and stop for lunch on the first floor (reopening not yet defined), choosing one of the local specialties available.

A good idea to spend the afternoon could be to visit the Accademia Gallery with important masterpieces of art and the original statue of Michelangelo’s David (the one on display at the entrance of Palazzo Vecchio is a copy). The layout of the Gallery has been recently revised, and will be shown to the public with the reopening scheduled for 16 February 2021.

Another stop not to miss in the streets of the centre regards the shops that sell the typical Florentine paper, whose motifs of flowers, fruits, scrolls, cherubs and many other iconic subjects are embellished with gold. Our concierge will be able to suggest the best addresses to go.

The evening can then end in the best possible way with a tasting dinner at our 2 Michelin Star Restaurant Santa Elisabetta in the 2021 Guide. Chef Rocco De Santis will delight you with his creative and tasty cuisine in the suggestive and romantic location of the Byzantine Tower of Pagliazza which has only seven exclusive tables.

Day 2 of the romantic itinerary in Florence

For the morning of the second day, we suggest a visit to the Uffizi Gallery or the Palazzo Vecchio Museum, located next to each other a few minutes’ walk from the Brunelleschi Hotel. The day can then continue with the discovery of one of the most romantic places near Florence. We propose a lunch and a wine tasting at Castello Nipozzano, an enchanting medieval castle located in Chianti owned by the Frescobaldi family, located about 40 minutes from the centre of Florence and easily reachable by private car transfer. You can enjoy the afternoon in the countryside among the splendid Tuscan vineyards and return for the sunset for a dinner with a view at the Piazzale Michelangelo with unbeatable souvenir photos or take advantage of the evening to attend a concert at the Opera Theatre in Florence or in an intimate church in the historic centre. The Florentine artistic calendar is full of great initiatives throughout the year (reopening of theatres and concert halls will be announced in our blog as soon as the Covid restrictive measures cease).

Day 3 of the romantic itinerary in Florence

For the third day, we propose a trip along the romantic Cinque Terre coast (in summer) or a visit to Siena, San Gimignano, Montepulciano and Pienza (at any time of the year).

In the evening, a walk in the Oltrarno district to explore and enjoy like a true Florentine.

Do not forget to taste an ice cream in one of the renowned ice cream shops in the historic centre or to visit the Pagliazza Museum accompanied by our concierge. The museum is located in the basement of the Torre della Pagliazza and houses an ancient Roman calidarium and a collection of Renaissance ceramics found during the renovation of the Tower. The museum is located inside the Brunelleschi Hotel and just below the Osteria Pagliazza, where you can enjoy a delicious dinner in an intimate and relaxing atmosphere.

Tips for true romantics in Florence:

Tie a padlock with your initials and those of your loved one along the railings of Ponte Vecchio.

Along Ponte Vecchio there are the best jewellers in the city. You could surprise your other half with the most enchanting engagement ring or if you prefer not to rush too much… have a “couple” portrait done in front of the Duomo or in front of the Uffizi Gallery.

Obviously, these are just a few suggestions… Florence is a wonderful city with corners, alleys and clubs to be discovered.

Find your favourite and let us know which one it is!
